The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) aims to drive climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science. SBTi provides this guidance through its published criteria for science-based targets. Companies can develop their targets in line with these criteria to align with the Paris Agreement and focus on limiting the impacts of the climate crisis to below pre-industrial levels. SBTi approves targets that meet its criteria and publishes them on its website. We support you throughout the entire process of setting science-based GHG reduction targets aligned with SBTi criteria, based on your corporate carbon footprint.

Net-Zero Commitment

With the publication of the SBTi Net-Zero Standard in October 2021, the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) clarified the definition of “net-zero,” enabling companies to set science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets without risk of greenwashing.

Net-zero means reducing the vast majority (~90%) of GHG emissions to near-zero levels and neutralizing the remaining emissions using various tools and methods. To limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, global emissions must be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050. Organizations that commit to net-zero are taking a significant step toward this critical goal.

Target Setting Process in Line with SBTi Criteria

We analyze your corporate carbon footprint inventory, which includes emissions across your entire value chain, and work with you to determine the necessary reduction amounts for each scope in alignment with your company’s strategy. We provide end-to-end support to ensure a smooth and complete target-setting process.

01 In the project kickoff meeting, we define the scope of the work, inform you about SBTi requirements, and begin our analysis.

02 For companies with an existing GHG inventory, we review it for compliance with standards and make any necessary adjustments. If needed, we also prepare your corporate carbon footprint inventory in accordance with the GHG Protocol.

03 We design your science-based GHG reduction targets in alignment with your corporate strategy and determine the required reduction amounts.

04 We complete the SBTi submission form on your behalf and respond to any questions from SBTi during the approval process.

05 At the end of the process, your target is approved by SBTi and published on the SBTi website.
