CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit organization that operates a global disclosure system for investors, companies, and cities to manage their environmental impacts. It aims to make environmental reporting and risk management a business norm and to promote transparency, disclosure, and action toward a sustainable economy. With its integrated questionnaire covering climate change, water security, and forests, you can respond to sector-specific questions and showcase your company’s sustainability performance on a global platform—demonstrating your commitment and raising awareness.
Distinguished companies globally and in Türkiye transparently disclose their environmental impacts and how they manage these impacts by reporting through CDP. CDP scores and classifies reporting companies based on their responses using a transparent methodology. At the end of the scoring process, companies receive one of the following grades according to their performance: A (Leadership), B (Management), C (Awareness), or D (Disclosure). Through this system, CDP rewards companies that take action on climate change, water security, and deforestation. With the newly integrated system, questions related to climate change, water security, and deforestation have been consolidated into a single questionnaire, reducing the risk of duplication in the information requested.
The updated CDP Questionnaire, now aligned with the ISSB S2 Climate Standards, will encourage companies to engage in climate action beyond the mandatory requirements of national regulations. It also includes a dedicated SME questionnaire tailored to the impacts of small and medium-sized enterprises. As of 2023, all CDP themes—grouped under the categories of climate change, water security, and forests—have been integrated into a unified questionnaire. This reduces the likelihood of redundant disclosures and enables companies to publish their sustainability performance on a global platform through their responses to sector-specific questions.
